AMBOSS AI Mode is an AI-powered search tool that helps you find relevant medical information and directs you to the original sources. It draws on a selection of sources — AMBOSS Articles, AMBOSS Drugs, and selected external sources such as clinical practice guidelines — and provides a brief AI-generated summary that points you to the full source for your review.
AI Mode is intended for medical research only. It is not intended for diagnostic or therapeutic use, and should not be used in time-sensitive or emergency situations where you would not have time to independently review the information provided. It is a research aid and does not replace your professional medical judgment.
When you enter a medical query, AI Mode searches trusted sources (AMBOSS Articles, AMBOSS Drugs, and selected external sources), identifies relevant content, and generates a brief summary with links that take you to the full sources. We regularly assess output quality against a curated set of questions using defined scoring criteria.
Clinical relevance is at the core of AMBOSS AI Mode. Our team includes experienced clinicians who bring their day-to-day expertise directly into product design. AI Mode is grounded in a peer-curated selection of carefully reviewed, clinically relevant sources. For us, quality matters not only in the information provided but also how it is presented: AI Mode directs you to the most relevant evidence in a clear, structured format.
AI Mode draws on curated medical sources, which greatly reduces the risk of hallucinations: plausible-sounding but incorrect information. If AI Mode cannot find relevant information for your question, it is trained to indicate this.
