The rapid acceleration of AI in health care holds immense promise. But it comes with a critical challenge: Most AI systems aren't grounded in medical evidence. They can hallucinate and even misguide us at times. They’re trained on general-purpose data scraped from the open internet, not on the validated, structured medical knowledge clinicians rely upon every day.
At AMBOSS, we’ve taken a different approach.
The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is a standardized, open-source interface developed by Anthropic and adopted by OpenAI and others. MCP provides AI agents with real-time access to tools, systems, and resources. Our MCP server is your AI interface with AMBOSS: an extensive, physician-verified knowledge base used by hundreds of thousands of clinicians globally.
Agents can browse and interact with AMBOSS content through a single, unified interface. This means AI can now autonomously navigate and use everything AMBOSS offers: articles, drug monographs, flowcharts, calculators, clinical scores, patient cases, and more, with superhuman speed. Responses are fully grounded in the AMBOSS Knowledge Library and include links to all relevant content, so users can verify, and trust every answer. With the launch of our MCP AMBOSS is now open to AI development teams and autonomous agents.
In clinical environments, accuracy isn’t optional. Without grounding in verified knowledge, AI outputs aren’t trustworthy and can even be dangerous. With the AMBOSS MCP, AI agents can access continuously updated, evidence-based content in real time. This is the foundation that transforms generic AI into a clinically essential tool.
We’re granting access to the AMBOSS MCP to a limited number of AI development teams who want to build serious tools for clinical decision-making. Don't risk building on shaky ground, let's connect.
